Sail On — the second single from Mirka’s upcoming album Phoenix — reflects her personal journey of overcoming. Life brings us hardships, hurts, and disappointments. No matter how tightly we try to hold on, we soon realize that nothing is truly in our control — we must learn to let go. No one is immune to pain, but healing often comes from unexpected places or people we may not have seen at first. To receive that healing, we must release the pain and choose to trust — to sail — again. The wind will carry us where it will, and as we move forward, we will one day reach that shore — that person — and, “like a Phoenix, you’ll rise and leave the ashes behind.” At its heart, Sail On is a song of hope, trust, restoration, and healing.

My South Africa, the first single from the album Phoenix by Mirka is a heartfelt love letter from Mirka to her homeland—an uplifting tribute to the resilience, unity, and unbreakable spirit of its people. With this song, which Mirka co-wrote with Janey Clewer, she celebrates the journey of reconciliation and the vibrant strength of the Rainbow Nation.

Colors of Africa – A Personal Reflection by Mirka:  When I moved to the USA in 2009, I left everything behind—family, friends, and familiarity. After a few months, I began to miss my homeland deeply. Watching the news, I noticed that the media often portrayed Africa in a negative light. And while I’m not naïve to the challenges, I also know there is so much more to Africa. Africa is beauty. It’s the resilience of its people, the richness of its culture, the majesty of its wildlife, and the unmatched vibrance of its nature. Yes, the continent has endured hardship, and the road ahead is still long—but I believe in the future of Africa with all my heart. Africa is a light. And when her people start to truly believe in that light, the continent will rise and shine in its full potential. I love Africa, and I hope that one day I can invest even more into its future through my music. I dream that "Colors of Africa" will become an anthem of hope for what lies ahead. I believe the majority of Africans share that same dream—and that the small minority standing in the way of growth and progress will eventually be outshined. Africa’s strength lies in its diversity. And it’s in that diversity that Africa will shine her light to the world—a testimony of grace, hope, and forgiveness.
